Salted honey mug cake with honey drizzle and flaky salt
Hands-on: 5 min Cook: 60–70 sec Yield: 1 mug cake

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour (¼ cup)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ⅛ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch fine salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • To finish: Flaky sea salt
Melt tip: Let melted butter cool 20–30 seconds before mixing so it doesn’t scramble the batter.

Step-by-Step

  1. Stir dry. In a 12–14 oz microwave-safe mug, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Whisk wet. Add milk, melted butter, honey, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  3. Microwave. Cook on HIGH 60–70 seconds (adjust for your wattage) until set at the edges and gently springy in the center.
  4. Finish. Rest 1–2 minutes. Drizzle with a touch more honey and sprinkle with flaky salt.
