Cinnamon Streusel Mug Cake
Cinnamon Streusel Mug Cake
A warm, fluffy cinnamon cake made right in your mug and finished with a buttery brown-sugar streusel. No egg, no mixer—just whisk, microwave, and dig in.
Ingredients
Mug Cake
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour (¼ cup)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch fine salt
- 3 tbsp milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (or neutral oil)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Streusel
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tbsp butter, softened
Mug size: Use a 12–14 oz (350–400 ml) microwave-safe mug so the cake has room to rise.
Step-by-Step
- Mix the batter. In the mug, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
- Make streusel. In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until clumpy. Sprinkle over the batter.
- Microwave. Cook on HIGH ~70 seconds (adjust 60–90 sec based on wattage) until set at edges with a few moist spots in the center.
- Rest & enjoy. Let stand 1–2 minutes to finish cooking. Drizzle with a quick glaze if you like.
Wattage guide: 1100–1200W: 60–75 sec · ~900W: 75–90 sec. Add 5–10 sec if the center looks wet.
How to Serve
- Drizzle with a simple glaze (powdered sugar + a few drops of milk + vanilla).
