Ingredients

Mug Cake

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour (¼ cup)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch fine salt
  • 3 tbsp milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or neutral oil)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Streusel

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tbsp butter, softened
Mug size: Use a 12–14 oz (350–400 ml) microwave-safe mug so the cake has room to rise.

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix the batter. In the mug, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  2. Make streusel. In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until clumpy. Sprinkle over the batter.
  3. Microwave. Cook on HIGH ~70 seconds (adjust 60–90 sec based on wattage) until set at edges with a few moist spots in the center.
  4. Rest & enjoy. Let stand 1–2 minutes to finish cooking. Drizzle with a quick glaze if you like.
Wattage guide: 1100–1200W: 60–75 sec · ~900W: 75–90 sec. Add 5–10 sec if the center looks wet.

  • Drizzle with a simple glaze (powdered sugar + a few drops of milk + vanilla).
