Vampire donuts with candy eyes, plastic fangs and red gel 'blood'

Vampire Donuts

The easiest spooky treat—store-bought glazed donuts “bite back” with plastic fangs, googly eyes, and a drip of edible blood.

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen glazed donuts
  • 24 candy eyes (2 per donut)
  • Red icing gel or strawberry/raspberry syrup
  • 12 sets plastic vampire teeth (clean, food-safe)
  • Optional: small dab of frosting to “glue” eyes

Cake-style donuts hold their shape best, but any glazed ring donut works.

Directions

  1. Prep: Line a tray with parchment. Open and gently flex each set of vampire teeth so they spring open easily.
  2. Fang it: Working one donut at a time, press the teeth into the center hole. If the hole is tight, widen slightly with your fingers first to avoid cracking the glaze.
  3. Eyes on: Add two candy eyes above the mouth. Use a tiny dot of gel or frosting as glue so they stay put.
  4. Bloody bite: Squeeze red gel from the corners of the mouth, letting it drip naturally for a spooky effect. Add a little under the teeth, too.
  5. Set & serve: Let donuts sit 5–10 minutes so the gel sets slightly. Arrange on a platter and serve the same day.

Party proof: transport with the donuts lying flat in a single layer; carry extra gel for touch-ups.

Variations

  • Jam blood: Warm 2 Tbsp seedless raspberry jam 10 seconds; stir and drizzle.
  • Chocolate bite: Use chocolate-glazed donuts and a white gel “drool.”
  • Mini version: Use mini donuts and cut the plastic teeth in half.

Allergy/Notes

  • Verify candy eyes are nut/gelatin safe for your guests.
  • Remove the plastic teeth before eating if serving to young kids.
