Dark purple blackberry fizz mocktail with fresh blackberries and candlelight

Midnight Blackberry Fizz

An inky-purple, gently sparkling mocktail that looks straight out of a moonlit garden. Sweet-tart blackberry base + bubbles = a party-friendly Halloween sip for kids and grown-ups alike.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups blackberry juice or strained purée (see tip)
  • 2 cups sparkling water or club soda, chilled
  • 2 Tbsp honey or simple syrup, to taste
  • 1–2 Tbsp lemon juice (brightens the color & flavor)
  • Ice & fresh blackberries for garnish

No juice? Blend 3 cups blackberries with ¼ cup water, then strain through a fine sieve for a silky base.

Directions

  1. Make base: In a pitcher, stir blackberry juice, honey/syrup, and lemon juice until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
  2. Fizz: Fill glasses with ice. Pour in blackberry base halfway; top with sparkling water and give a gentle stir to keep the bubbles lively.
  3. Garnish & serve: Add a few blackberries. For a “midnight rim,” dip glass edges in corn syrup then black sanding sugar.

Party tip: Mix the blackberry base up to 2 days ahead and chill. Add the bubbles just before serving so it stays effervescent on the drinks table.

Variations

  • Witches’ Fizz: Swap half the sparkling water for lemon-lime soda.
  • Graveyard Float: Add a tiny scoop of vanilla sherbet to each glass for a foamy “fog.”
  • Berry Swap: Try blueberry or black cherry juice for different hues.
  • Adults-Only (optional): Top individual glasses with a splash of prosecco.

Make-Ahead & Storage

  • Keep blackberry base covered and chilled up to 48 hours.
  • Leftover mixed drink will lose fizz—refresh with a little more sparkling water.
