Frankenstein Krispies
Classic marshmallow cereal bars tinted monster green and topped with chocolate “hair,” candy eyes, and piped scars—spooky-fun and kid-approved.
Ingredients
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- Green food coloring
- 4–6 oz melting chocolate or chocolate squares (for “hair”)
- Candy eyes
- Black gel icing (for mouths/scars)
Add a pinch of salt and ½ tsp vanilla for extra flavor.
Directions
- Melt: In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Stir in marshmallows until smooth; tint with green food coloring.
- Mix: Remove from heat and fold in the cereal until evenly coated.
- Press & set: Press into a greased or parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan. Cool until firm, 20–30 minutes.
- Cut: Lift out and cut into rectangles.
- Decorate: Dip or spread the top edge with melted chocolate for hair. Add candy eyes; pipe mouths and scars with black gel.
Party tip: Insert mini pretzel “neck bolts” on the sides!

- For soft bars, place a slice of bread in the container (replace daily).
