Berry Citrus Smash

Fruity and sparkling with a gentle citrus bite—great for brunch.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 3/4 cup mixed berries (fresh or thawed)
  • 2 thin orange slices
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2–1 oz (15–30 ml) simple syrup or honey, to taste
  • 4–5 oz (120–150 ml) lemon-lime soda or sparkling water
  • Ice · Garnish: mint sprig

Directions

  1. In a sturdy glass, muddle berries with orange slices until saucy.
  2. Add lime juice and simple syrup; fill the glass with ice.
  3. Top with lemon-lime soda (or sparkling water for less sweet). Stir gently and garnish.

Pitcher (6): 4 1/2 cups berries · 12 orange slices · 3 oz lime · 1/3–1/2 cup syrup · 1 liter soda.

Tip: Strain after muddling for a smoother drink, or leave the pulp for extra berry flavor.

Cucumber Ginger Spritz

Cool, crisp cucumber with lively ginger fizz—spa vibes in a glass.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 5 cucumber slices (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) ginger syrup (or 1 tsp grated ginger + 1/2 oz simple syrup)
  • 3 oz (90 ml) ginger beer (non-alcoholic)
  • Club soda to top · Ice

Directions

  1. Muddle cucumber with lime juice and ginger syrup in a tall glass (10–15 sec).
  2. Fill with ice, add ginger beer, then top with club soda. Stir gently.
  3. Garnish with cucumber ribbon or lime wheel.

Make it lighter: swap half the ginger beer for extra club soda.

Ginger Syrup: Simmer 1 cup water + 1 cup sugar + 1 cup sliced ginger 8–10 min; steep 10 min, strain, chill (keeps 2 weeks).

Tropical Fizz

Sunshiny pineapple-orange with a bright lime snap and bubbly finish.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 2 oz (60 ml) pineapple juice
  • 2 oz (60 ml) orange juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/4–1/2 oz (8–15 ml) simple syrup, to taste
  • 3 oz (90 ml) ginger ale or sparkling water
  • Ice · Garnish: orange wedge or pineapple frond

Directions

  1. Shake pineapple, orange, lime, and syrup with ice (5–8 sec).
  2. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with ginger ale. Stir once.
  3. Garnish and serve immediately.

Batch (8): 2 cups pineapple · 2 cups orange · 1/2 cup lime · 1/2–3/4 cup syrup · 1 liter ginger ale.

Variation: Add a few muddled passion fruit seeds for extra tang and texture.

Make-Ahead, Storage & Variations

  • Make-ahead: Mix citrus + sweetener bases up to 2 days ahead. Add ice and fizzy mixers just before serving to keep bubbles lively.
  • Ice tips: Crushed ice chills fast but dilutes more; large cubes keep drinks bright longer.
  • Lower sugar: Use sparkling water in place of sodas and increase citrus slightly.
  • Garnishes: Fresh herbs (mint, basil), citrus wheels, or a salted/sugared rim elevate presentation.
